Santhosh Narayanan created the soundtrack for the 2024 Telugu-language epic dystopian science fiction action film Kalki 2898 AD, which was directed by Nag Ashwin and starred Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone. The lyrics were written by Ramajogayya Sastry, Varadaraj Chikkaballapura in Kannada, Vivek in Tamil, Kumaar and Siddharth-Garima in Hindi, Chandrabose and Krishna Kanth in Telugu, and Shyam Muraleedharan in Malayalam. On July 10, 2024, the six-song soundtrack album became accessible.

In August 2020, A. R. Rahman received the initial request to compose the soundtrack for the film. Mickey J. Meyer replaced Rahman, who opted not to sign the film. In a February 2023 interview, Dutt disclosed that Santhosh Narayanan has replaced Meyer as the film’s composer. Narayanan recorded the background score by February 2024.
